The typical ‘porn star’ is one with big breasts, lots of make-up, and hardly any clothing. Rising star, Jessie Andrews, couldn’t be further from this image. With her natural look and relaxed attitude, she appears to have taken everyone by surprise … and the industry by storm.
Early Years
In 2010, one week after her eighteenth birthday, Andrews first entered the industry. She’s the first to admit that she did it for the cash. What’s more surprising is that she had never seen an entire porn scene before she started performing. Andrews began with small-scale products, but landed the lead role in the American pornographic film Portrait of a Call Girl (2011). In 2012, the film received 19 nominations and went on to win 11 awards, including the AVN Award for Best Actress. The film received recognition for art direction and cinematography, and served as a perfect vehicle for Jessie Andrews to showcase her considerable talents. In 2012, Andrews chose to only shoot pornographic films with women.
Not Your Average Porn Star
“I don’t think I’m a porn star,” she told the publication during the AVN Expo. “When I think of porn, I think of girls with big boobs, flashy, always made up, who carry themselves sexually,” she says, adding, “I’m just someone who does porn.” And she does it well!
In January, we saw the release of the Fetish Fantasies: Volume 1 from Erotica X studios. The XXX film stars Andrews alongside the sexy Mia Malkova, Anissa Kate, and Ashlyn Molloy. Together, the film introduces viewers to the world of fetish sex through four beautiful and kinky scenes. The first scene involves the kinky star wearing a lace choker and her nipples being lightly flogged with a riding crop.
At the beginning of her career, Andrews would regularly post behind-the-scenes photos of herself on shoots, along with pictures of her regular, everyday moments. These snapshots, which provided a glimpse at “Jessie’s Life,” her Twitter handle, showed her going to and from the gym, going for coffee with friends, and getting ready for a night out. In a recent interview, she said she was one of the first porn stars to get Twitter right. With over 200,000 Twitter followers and counting, it was a move that certainly paid off.
Another feature that sets her apart from others in the industry is her lifestyle choice. She has said in interviews that she doesn’t drink, smoke or do drugs. Furthermore, much of her social media images depict Andrews at the gym, eating healthy food, or hiking with friends.
Other Ventures
In addition to her work in the industry, she designs a line of jewellery and has begun touring internationally as a DJ. Andrews launched her jewellery line, Bagatiba, in 2012. The line has picked up momentum over the last few years and she is in the process of designing a line for Topshop.
Her music career has seen her socialising with a wealth of big names in the business including Skrillex and Dj Borgor, who she briefly dated. On November 26, 2012 she released a remix for Anna Lunoe & Flume’s “I Met You” and made it available for free download. The following month, she released her remix of Disclosure and Sam Smith’s “Latch”. Despite her numerous successes, it’s not all smooth sailing. In December 2014, El Paso’s Children Hospital withdrew its participation from a fundraising event when it learned that Andrews was going to be the special guest DJ for the event.
Regardless, we admire her. Andrews represents the modern porn star: working in front of the camera but cultivating a host of additional businesses that trade on her considerable fame. We can’t get enough of this sexy star and we look forward to her next kinky release!
