The Kinky Guide to Bondage

Over recent years, bondage has become more and more popular in the kinky bedrooms of the United Kingdom. What was once considered an act performed by weirdo’s in basements, by guys wearing gimp masks, is now a common way of adding a bit of excitement into a number of couples sex lives.

What is Bondage?

There is still however, quite a bit of confusion as to what bondage actually is. Bondage is basically the tying, binding and restraining of a person for sexual, and psychological pleasure.

It isn’t sadomasochism. There does not need for to be pain inflicted on anyone for it to be pleasurable. That doesn’t mean that that sadomasochism can’t take place during bondage, bondage can certainly be a prelude. Spanking can follow, varying from soft to hard, but it isn’t the sole reason for this kind of fun. Bondage is about the temporary transfer of power and control, with one partner enjoying seeing the other tied up, with the other loving the fact they are in a submissive position.

Different Types of Bondage

There is still so much more to bondage however, and so many rules you should stick to. Here at Kinky.co.uk we have put together a beginners guide to the sexy world of bondage. We hope it helps give you and your partner years of fun.

Firstly, there are different kinds of bondage, all with different characteristics. You can go all the way from torture bondage, which can put the recipient in a position of pain as punishment in sexual play, to film bondage, where the recipient can release themselves without any real effort.

Different objects can be used to tie up the submissive partner. You can use rope, cuffs, bondage tape and self adhesive bandages, amongst other things. They can of course be tied with different strengths, depending on how both partners feel.

Different Restraints

There are also different forms of tying that can be used when partaking in this sexual activity. Here are just a few:

1) The binding of body parts, like arms or legs together

2) Spreading out the arms or legs

3) Binding the submissive partner to a different object, such as a table or chair

4) Suspending the restrained partner from the ceiling

5) Wrapping the submissive partner in elastic material. This is sometimes known as Mummification.

After that, its is up to the consenting adults to decide what they get up to. You can get up to anything when your partner is restrained. This could go from teasing, to using sex toys.

Safety Tips for Bondage

There are however, a number of things you should do to make sure that your safety is guaranteed:

Always have a ‘safeword.’ This should be agreed beforehand, and used if the submissive partner is distressed and wants the bondage to stop.

1) Never leave a person who is bound, alone

2) Never put someone in a position that restricts their breathing, for obvious reasons.

3) Make sure that the restrained partner can be released quickly in an emergency.

4) Stay sober!! Alcohol and drugs should be avoided at all costs

5) If you follow these rules, a lot of fun can be had. If not, bondage, in certain forms ,can be quite dangerous.
