It’s that time of year again. As we near the end of the month, we turn our attention towards the biggest night in the industry, the 33rd AVN Award Show. With nearly 100 categories – there’s a lot of voting to be done beforehand. A personal favourite is the category; Best BDSM Movie. Lots of interesting themes are explored in this year’s list, and with 15 nominations to choose from, we thought we’d take a closer look at some our favourites.

A kinky eight-episode series, with nine hardcore sex scenes. If you’re tired of gonzo and looking for something with characters and a storyline, this ticks all the boxes.

Ms. Grey, Severe Sex/Exile

Another ‘Fifty Shades of Gray’ inspired movie – this is an all-girl take on the popular book. Ms Grey works on several levels – it’s a well written parody of the mainstream movie and a kinky lesbian fetish movie. Lily Cade stars as Ms Grey, a fabulously rich and assertive character that catches the attention of the naïve Annabella (newcomer Dolly Leigh). There is plenty of duct tape, rope play, whips, and spanking!
Shades of Scarlet 2: High Power, Zero Tolerance Entertainment
Starring: Abella Danger, Kendra Lust, Marcus London, and Tommy Pistol
‘Shades of Scarlet’ was nominated in the same category last year, receiving glowing reviews from fans. Marcus West, Marketing Director at Zero Tolerance Entertainment said the mysterious thriller was, “… ZT’s most expensive production to date, with a twist at the end that keeps you guessing. The fans are going to love it!”
So we are glad to see that its sequel is equally as exciting! The movie follows a small town reporter (played by Kendra Lust) who is researching the mysterious death of an erotic author. The search for answers leads Lust into a world of sexual insanity. Shades of Scarlet 2, is a solid continuation of the BDSM themes introduces in the first instalment, focusing on power dynamics and elements of bondage, spanking, and flogging.
