A Kinky Guide to Water Sports

Urolagnia is a paraphilia in which people are sexually arouse by urine – the sight, smell or thought of either the act of urination or urine itself. In scientific circles it can also be called urophagia, urolagnia, renifleurism, undinism, and ondinisme. In non-scientific circles it is more popularly called water sports, golden showers and piss play. People have been using urine to enhance and arouse sexual pleasure for centuries. In today’s society recreational urine play is often portrayed as something dirty and forbidden. However, for those looking to taste a bit of forbidden fruit or simply shake things up in her bedroom, it can be exciting, empowering and sexy.

Variations of Water Sports

As with most fetishes, there are many forms of water sports, including:

Voyeurism; when one wants to watch another person urinate, without their knowledge. This can include using hidden cameras or a peek hole in public toilets.

Exhibitionism; when one wants to be watched by someone else when they urinate. It can also include being aroused by someone witnessing their desperation to go when they forces themselves to hold it in.

Omarashi; this is the act of holding in the need to urinate until one urgently needs to. This is often used as a don/sub activity, where the dom orders the sub to hold it in until they urgently need to go. The pleasure gained is usually from watching the sub’s facial expressions and/or body language as they attempt to hold it in.

Clothes wetting; when one becomes sexually aroused by wetting their clothing. They may also take pleasure in watching someone else wet themselves. The pleasure gained is often from the warm sensation, the smell and the relaxation that comes with letting of the urge to go.

Human urinal; this is a common act in kinky role plays, where one urinates on the face, hair and/or body of their partner. This is most typically referred to as a golden shower.

Pussing; this is the act of a heterosexual couple sneaking into a public toilet in order to watch each other urinate. The sneaking into a forbidden place is a form of foreplay and excitement.

Things to Keep in Mind

As with many fetishes, the number one question I’m asked is; how safe is it? I would be lying if I said it was risk-free, but the same can be said of many sexual practices.

Drinking someone else’s urine can greatly increase the risk of bacterial and viral infections. Furthermore, if your partner has recently taken medications or drugs, they can also be passed to you through consumption. If you have open sores on your skin, certain STDs and infections could be spread to you through skin-to-urine contact. Getting tested regularly would put both of your minds at ease and keep you safe. In the unlikely event that you do get sick, book an appointment with your GP straight away. A doctor will be able to diagnose and prescribe the right medicine to flush the virus out of your system.

As mentioned above, if you decide to give water sports a go, talk it through with your partner first and plan ahead. As with any fetish, I recommend setting up a safe word beforehand, so if either of you get uncomfortable you can call it and bring the scene to an end. Also discuss mess control and carefully select where you will be engaging in the activity so you can avoid extra laundry or worse messes – a shower or bath tub is a good place to experiment with water sports. After a great session, don’t forget to talk through the scene with your partner. What did you both enjoy? What would you change? What would you like to further explore? There is no need to go too in-depth, but reflecting on your sexual experiences will allow you to work on, and improve your sex life.

How far you go, and what you try is up to you. However, keeping things as clean and safe as possible will ensure there are no nasty surprises.
