Sexercise – A Racy Alternative To The Gym

Don’t have enough time to go to the gym and have sex? Well there’s no need to choose one over the other! Sexercise combines both.
We have all heard that sex can be an excellent form of exercise – and there’s evidence that backs this up. Recent studies have suggested that sexercise has many health benefits; from lowering stress levels and fighting off depression to boosting the immune system and contributing to better overall health. You can lose weight and gain pleasure at the same time – what’s not to love?!

According to Superdrug, the average half hour of light sex will burn 61 calories for men and 59 calories for women. This is the same as walking a mile or working out at the gym for 20 minutes.

It’s All About the Positions

As you can imagine, certain positions burn more calories than other. Missionary tends to burn the fewest calories, while sex positions that incorporate arching or standing usually burn the most. The key to beneficial (and fun) sexercise is finding a position that will work your body and that also allows you to keep going for longer. After all, the longer the workout, the more calories burnt!

The Wheelbarrow

This sexercise position requires a decent amount of arm strength from both you and your partner. You’ll hold her at the waist while she’s face down and supporting herself with her hands as her legs envelope you. Depending on heights, she might need to rest on the ground closer to your feet. A good grip is a must for you to adequately thrust yourself. This will work your legs, back and arms, while your partner’s arms and core will be put to the test holding this position!

Alternatively, your partner could face up and bend her arms backward at the shoulder to support herself. It’s easier if you kneel for this position as it gives your partner the option of putting her feet on the floor and relying less on your body for support. If you have an ottoman or a piece of sex furniture, you can practice this to get it right.

The Big Dipper

Although it entails a lot of core strength, this position is slightly more intimate than most other sexercise poses because you’re facing one another and can make eye contact or kiss. In this pose, your body is suspended between two chairs, sofas, or other pieces of furniture. Make sure you’re comfortable supporting your entire weight on your hands (you can practice with an additional chair under your lower back). Someone with weak joints isn’t going to be the ideal candidate for this sex position. Once you’re in place and comfortable, get your partner to straddle your lap and raise and lower herself over you. Your body will support some of your weight while her feet support the rest of it.

Piston

We’ve all seen this position in the movies and secretly (or not-so-secretly) wanted to reenact it! The Piston is a position where you stand upright while your partner’s legs are wrapped around your waist. Instead of her relying on you to support you’re her weight, get your partner to rest her toes on a bed, table or other piece of furniture that’s at the right height. This gives your arms a rest and gives her a little leverage for getting the best stimulation, too!

Side Saddle

Lie on the edge of the bed with your legs dangling over the side. Get your partner to perch above your penis and lower herself onto you with her feet on the floor in front of the bed. With her hands resting on your inner thighs, she’ll raise and lower herself. This is not as easy as you might think!
